 $13.7M Baitoon Nursery School Commissioned.

June 28, 2025- The Honourable Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand, today commissioned the newly completed Baitoon Nursery School project, a significant investment valued at $13,780,000 and executed over an 11-month period.

The commissioning marks a continued push by the Ministry of Education to improve early childhood education infrastructure in hinterland regions, ensuring that the youngest learners are afforded safe, stimulating, and well-equipped environments to begin their educational journey.

In her remarks, Minister Manickchand highlighted the Government’s commitment to equitable access to quality education for all children.

The new facility is expected to benefit dozens of children in Baitoon and surrounding communities, offering a structured and nurturing learning space that supports early literacy, numeracy, and social development.

The project also reflects the Ministry’s broader goal of expanding and upgrading nursery education nationwide, with a particular focus on underserved and remote areas.

The Baitoon Nursery School stands as another example of the Ministry’s drive to build a more inclusive and modern education system for every child, everywhere in Guyana.
