The 2025 Regional Symposium and Policy Dialogue on Transforming Education, is being held in Barbados from September 30 to October 2, 2025, focused on the theme:
“Stronger Together: Empowering Parents as Partners in Caribbean Education.”
This event, hosted by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the Ministry of Educational Transformation, Barbados, is the second edition following a successful inaugural symposium.
Key Discussions: Session topics were expected to include:
* Parenting in a Digital Age
* Advocating for Learners with Diverse Needs (Breaking Barriers)
* Parents and CXC: Partnering for Student Success
* Fostering Inclusive, Collaborative Parent-School Partnerships
* Elevating the Role of Parents in School Transformation
* Student and Youth Perspectives
The symposium aims to reinforce the commitment to making Caribbean education systems more inclusive of family engagement and better aligned with the needs of modern learners.
The Symposium and Policy Dialogue is attended by Ms. Fazia Baksh, Deputy Chief Education Officer with responsibility for School Support Services, Ms Nadia Hollingsworth, Coordinator PTA Unit, Ms Mya Dornick, PTA Chair, Hope Secondary School and Ms Indera Jafferally, PTA Chair, No. 56 Primary School.
