Minister of Education Priya Manickchand yesterday commissioned a brand-new $360 million Practical Instruction Department (PID) at Bartica Secondary School.
A release from the ministry said yesterday’s commissioning marked the sixth such facility completed under the Guyana Skills Development and Employability Project (GSDEP), a flagship initiative that it said is changing the way education prepares young people for the world of work.
Minister Manickchand said that it was the fifth such facility she has opened in under three years; a testament, she said, to her ministry’s unwavering commitment to expanding Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) across the country, the release stated.
