Ministry of Education Engages Over 700 Grade Six Teachers Ahead of NGSA 2025

January 14, 2025 – On Monday morning, the Honourable Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand, led a virtual meeting with Grade Six teachers nationwide to discuss the upcoming National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) 2025. She was joined by Chief Education Officer Saddam Hussain, Deputy Chief Education Officer (Examinations) Ameer Ali, and other senior officers from the Ministry of Education.

The meeting saw participation from over 700 teachers, including those from remote areas such as Konoshen and Tiger Pond in Region Nine, and Monkey Mountain in Region Eight, underscoring the Ministry’s commitment to equitable access and engagement.

A key focus of the session was the analysis of results from the first NGSA 2025 mock examination conducted in December 2024. Teachers were encouraged to use these results to assess both class-wide and individual pupil performance, allowing for targeted teaching strategies to address identified gaps.

The forum also provided a platform for teachers to raise concerns and share insights, fostering collaboration and a shared commitment to improving outcomes.

Minister Manickchand emphasized the importance of these engagements, stating, “Our goal is to ensure every child has the support and resources needed to succeed. The NGSA is not just an exam but a reflection of our dedication to providing equal opportunities for all learners.”
