While today, Arrival Day, celebrates the coming of all ethnic groups to Guyana, it marks a significant milestone—the 188th Anniversary of the arrival of East Indians to these shores.
This evening, Hon. Sonia Parag, Minister of Education, joined the Indian Commemorative Trust at the Indian Monument Garden for their 26th annual Pushpanjali cultural extravaganza.
The event was a beautiful tribute to our history, showcasing the rich traditions, music, and values that our East Indian ancestors brought with them in 1838.
It remains a vital annual celebration that keeps our heritage alive and ensures our ancestors are properly honoured for generations to come.
