Baracara Welcomes Honourable Minister Priya Manickchand
On Wednesday, the riverain community of Baracara, nestled along the Canje River, hosted a landmark outreach event with Honourable Minister of Education Priya Manickchand. This visit marked the first time a Minister of Education has engaged with the village in such a manner.
A diverse group of residents, including parents, teachers, health workers, and rural constables, gathered to welcome the Minister and discuss pressing community concerns. Issues related to education, infrastructure, security, and overall development were highlighted during the meeting. The Minister responded by contacting relevant sector personnel on the spot to address these concerns.
Minister Manickchand emphasized that while education is a key focus, her commitment extends to addressing a broader range of community needs. She assured residents that although her physical presence might be rare, efforts are ongoing to provide necessary services and support to the village.
"Investing in people is our priority. Our goal is to improve lives, whether it's for your children, the elderly, or the entire community. We ensure that resources are used to benefit everyone," she stated. The community expressed deep gratitude for Minister Manickchand’s visit, noting that it was the first time an Education Minister had engaged with them directly. The residents were inspired and reassured by her commitment to addressing their concerns, reflecting a hopeful outlook for future improvements.
