CCSLC exams wrap up!
The historic undertaking of the Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence (CCSLC) wrapped up today with its first cohort of 69 students from the St. George’s School of Sciences.
St. George’s is the first public institution to undertake these exams, marking a huge milestone for secondary education in Guyana.
By focusing on basic education (Grades 7–9), this programme builds the core skills, practical knowledge, and values students need before moving on to the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC), vocational training, or entering the workforce.
In this video, National Coordinator Dr Viola Rowe breaks down what this achievement means for our school system and explains how this successful pilot is paving the way for schools across the country.
