CSEC 2025: Guyanese Students Claim 60 Placements Across 16 CSEC Subjects on the Regional Merit List

The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) has released the 2025 Regional Merit List for the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations. The Merit List recognizes the top ten performers across the Caribbean in each subject offered at the CSEC level, highlighting exceptional student achievement and placing honourees among the region’s highest academic performers.

Guyanese students have earned placements on the Regional Merit List in 16 subject areas, securing a total of 60 merit positions. These results reflect the dedication and hard work of our learners, supported by their families, teachers and school communities.

In addition to these Merits, Guyana has also secured the CXC prize for Most Outstanding Overall CSEC Performer in the Caribbean through Mahesa Boodhoo of Queen’s College, as well as three additional regional awards:

Most Outstanding Performer in Business — Dhanesh Tularam, Saraswati Vidya Niketan

Most Outstanding Performer in Humanities — Raquel London, Queen’s College

Most Outstanding Performer in Sciences — Samara Munro, Queen’s College

The Ministry of Education congratulates all students whose names appear on the Regional Merit List and acknowledges the collective commitment of educators, parents, guardians and the wider support systems who contributed to their success. May these accomplishments serve as inspiration to students across Guyana as they continue to strive for excellence.
