The Distance Education Unit successfully concluded its first-ever two-day workshop for Regional Site Managers and technicians, bringing together key personnel from across Guyana to strengthen the delivery of educational content nationwide.
Day One of the workshop focused on building foundational knowledge and equipping participants with the latest insights into transmission system troubleshooting, along with best practices for general operation and maintenance. Head of Distance Education, Mr. Phillip Williams, addressed the gathering and underscored the Ministry’s commitment to measuring success through improved student performance, while expressing appreciation for the critical role Site Managers play in ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery.
“Let me underscore the significance and scale of what you’re a part of today. We proudly operate 20 sites across Guyana, with a presence in every administrative region. You are members of the largest dedicated educational media content delivery network in this region of the world,” Mr. Williams stated.
Building on this foundation, Day Two delivered a more hands-on, practical experience. Participants engaged directly in technical troubleshooting exercises, focusing on receiver and transmitter components vital to the dissemination of the Ministry of Education’s content, particularly in hinterland and remote communities.
The workshop reflects the Ministry’s continued commitment to ensuring equitable access to quality education for all learners, regardless of geographic location.
