Earlier this week, Dr. Marcel Hutson, Executive Director of the National Accreditation Council of Guyana (NAC-G), presented a pioneering research paper at the request of the University Council of Jamaica.
His presentation, delivered to the Caribbean Area Network for Quality Assurance in Tertiary Education (CANQATE), highlighted the crucial role of faculty and staff induction programmes in fostering a data-driven culture within the Caribbean.
Dr. Hutson's work emphasised the importance of well-structured induction processes to equip academic and administrative personnel with the necessary skills and knowledge to leverage data effectively in decision-making and quality assurance. This landmark presentation underscored the progressive steps taken within the Caribbean toward strengthening educational frameworks and establishing a culture of continuous improvement across the region's higher education institutions
