DRAINAGE PUMPS FULLY OPERATIONAL ALONG MAHAICONY RIVER ||

DRAINAGE PUMPS FULLY OPERATIONAL ALONG MAHAICONY RIVER ||

All drainage systems and pumps are fully operational in communities along the Mahaicony River, Region Five.

Hon. Sonia Parag, Minister of Education, and Minister of Health, Hon. Dr. Frank Anthony, are currently on the ground meeting with residents, including rice farmers whose farmlands have been affected by recent heavy rainfall.

Following a Cabinet mandate for ministers to directly assess the situation, the officials are working closely with the community to ensure swift relief.

The ministers are accompanied by several regional officials who will return tomorrow to meet with cash crop farmers along the river.

The response team for Region Five also includes Regional Chairman, Recardo Phillips; Regional Vice Chairman, Kleon Lindey; Regional Executive Officer, Ms. Mary Samaroo; Regional Health Officer, Dr. Teresa Sarju; Regional Engineer, Dhanpaul Sukha; Regional Councillors; and Former Member of Parliament, Faizal Jaffarally.
