Education Minister Engages GPE Youth Leaders at UN General Assembly

Minister of Education, the Hon. Sonia Parag, today began her engagements on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York with a meeting with Youth Leaders of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE). She was accompanied by the Ministry’s Chief Planning Officer, Mrs. Mischka White-Griffith.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the “Multiply Possibility” Youth Call to Action, protecting and increasing investment in education, and strengthening collaboration between young people and policymakers to advance education priorities.

The engagement reflects the importance of including young people in decisions about their education and future, as Guyana continues its efforts to expand access, improve learning outcomes and create opportunities for every child.
