Education Minister’s Message for Child Protection Week 2026

MESSAGE FROM THE HONOURABLE SONIA PARAG, M.P. AS WE OBSERVE CHILD PROTECTION WEEK 2026

As we observe Child Protection Week 2026, the theme, “Keeping Every Child Safe; Committing to Robust Child Protection,” reflects the practical steps being taken by the Ministry of Education to strengthen child protection in our schools.

The Ministry has drafted an Anti-Bullying and Anti-Violence Policy, which is currently under review and will soon be released for public consideration. The policy will establish clear SOPs for schools to follow when dealing with cases of bullying, violence and harassment.

We have also implemented an Anti-Bullying Reporting System, providing a formal channel for complaints involving bullying, violence and harassment affecting students and members of the school community, including teachers and parents.

These measures are about ensuring that concerns are reported, properly addressed and followed through.

As we mark Child Protection Week, our focus is on turning conversations about the safety and wellbeing of children into systems and actions that provide real protection.

At the Ministry of Education, we remain committed to strengthening our schools as safe environments where every child can learn and thrive.
