On Monday, the Hon. Sonia Parag, Minister of Education met with representatives of One Communications, Brava and Google for discussions on opportunities to collaborate in advancing the digital transformation of Guyana's education sector.
The delegation included Mr. Abraham Smith, Chief Executive Officer of One Communications; Mr. Hilton Wong, General Manager of Brava; Mr. Conor McGowan, Regional Chief Executive Officer of Brava; Ms. Jasmin Harris, Communications and Government Relations Manager; Mr. Lloyd Harmon, Business Solutions Manager; Mr. Mauro Miyake, Google Public Sector Lead for the Caribbean; and Mr. Alejandro Almazan Zimerman, Head of Google for Education.
During the meeting, the team presented proposals outlining how their organisations could work alongside the Ministry to support the continued integration of technology across the education system. Discussions focused on opportunities to strengthen digital learning, improve connectivity and expand access to educational resources.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to fostering strategic partnerships that support its vision of delivering a modern, inclusive and technology-driven education system that benefits learners and educators across the country.
