The Department of Education – Region 10 recently held a Combined Headteachers’ Meeting at Bamia Primary focused on "Strengthening Accountability, Management, and Supervision for improved performance".
Led by Regional Education Officer (REO) Ms. La Shanna Anderson, the forum featured Deputy Chief Education Officer - School Support Services (DCEO-SSS) Ms. Fazia Baksh and Deputy Chief Education Officer - Admin (DCEO-A) Ms. Tiffany Harvey, who outlined mandates for school support and the necessity of leadership accountability.
Chief Planning Officer (CPO) and Parliamentary Secretary Ms. Mischka White-Griffith further inspired attendees to move beyond management toward transformative leadership, highlighting how safe schools empower learners, teachers, and parents.
By the end of the engagement, our headteachers left motivated to serve as true agents of change for their communities.
