Ensuring Educational Continuity for Region 8 Students

The Ministry of Education wishes to update the general public regarding the dormitory facilities at Paramakatoi and Monkey Mountain. We wish to reassure parents and the public that while construction is being finalised, no student is being left behind.

We have implemented a robust, blended learning framework to ensure that Grade 7 students from Chenapou and its surrounding communities continue to receive a high-quality secondary education within their own villages.

Innovative Learning Solutions in Place

To bridge the gap during construction, the Ministry has deployed a combination of face-to-face instruction and advanced digital learning across six key communities:

• Technology-Driven Classrooms: In Taruka, Tuseneng, Bamboo Creek, Chenapou, and Monkey Mountain, smart television sets have been installed to livestream lessons directly to learners.

• Individual Resources: Students in Chenapou and Micobie have been issued personal tablets and laptops to facilitate their studies.

• Expert Supervision: At every site, trained primary school teachers supervise learners and assist with technology. In Micobie, four dedicated secondary teachers have been appointed to deliver core subjects face-to-face.

Summary of Current Learning Modalities

• Taruka and Tuseneng: Online livestreaming sessions held at the respective Primary Schools.

• Monkey Mountain: A combination of online and face-to-face sessions held at the Learning Resource Centre and Multi-Purpose Building.

• Bamboo Creek: Online livestreaming sessions held at Bamboo Creek Primary School.

• Chenapou: Both online and face-to-face instruction delivered at Chenapou Primary School.

• Micobie: Full face-to-face instruction at Micobie Primary School, supported by four newly appointed secondary department teachers.

Our Commitment to Progress

The Ministry of Education is currently reviewing all projects under its purview to ensure swift and competent completion of all of them, be it schools or dormitories.

We remain steadfast in our commitment to bridging educational gaps and leveraging technology to empower every student, regardless of their location.
