The Caribbean Examinations Council has released the final results for the May/June 2025 examinations, and once again Guyana has upheld its proud tradition of academic excellence. Our country has earned the titles of Most Outstanding CSEC Candidate, awarded to Mahesa Boodhoo, and Most Outstanding CAPE Candidate, awarded to Sara Khan, both of Queen’s College. In addition, Guyana has secured top regional subject awards through Dhanesh Tularam of Saraswati Vidya Niketan for Business Studies, Raquel London of Queen's College for Humanities, and Samara Munro, also of Queen's College, for the Sciences. All of these students have demonstrated exceptional commitment and true discipline in learning. Additionally, students from Guyana earned 60 places on the regional merit list for CSEC, while 32 places were secured on the CAPE merit list.
Guyana takes great pride in these results, but we do not take them for granted. Excellence is not an act, it is a habit. It comes from long hours of study, from teachers who push and guide, from parents and guardians who support and encourage, and from a government and nation that believes in and invests in its children. I recognize the effort behind every grade and every success story, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who played a part in lifting our students to this level.
To our awardees and merit students, congratulations. You have represented your schools and your country with distinction. We are proud of you. To our teachers, parents and school communities, thank you for your partnership and dedication. You remain central to the strength of our education system.
To the students who will sit their CSEC and CAPE examinations in 2026 and in the years ahead, take inspiration from these results. Know that success is possible through consistent effort and belief in your own potential, and remember that whatever hurdle you face, you are capable of overcoming it. Work with purpose, stay focused, and seek guidance when needed. The Ministry of Education will continue to support your journey, and I look forward to seeing you exceed even these high standards.
Together, let us continue strengthening education in every region of Guyana so that every child has the opportunity to excel and contribute to the future of our nation.
