Today, 3,876 Guyanese from every corner of our country will proudly graduate through the GOAL Scholarship Programme.

Among them are teachers, nurses, public servants, parents, young professionals, entrepreneurs and lifelong learners. They come from every region, every community, every ethnicity, every faith and every socio-economic background. Some are earning their first qualification. Others have returned to the classroom after many years. Yet despite their different journeys, they all share one thing in common: they made the decision to invest in themselves and seize an opportunity to build a brighter future.

As Minister of Education, I am incredibly proud of each and every one of them. Today, as they walk across the stage during our two graduation ceremonies, they represent determination, sacrifice, resilience and a belief that it is never too late to learn, grow and succeed. This year's graduating class is also a reflection of the remarkable reach of the programme. Of the 3,876 graduates, 2,858 are women and 1,018 are men. They are earning qualifications at every level, including 1,308 certificate and vocational awards, 1,150 GROW graduates, 396 bachelor's degrees, 836 master's degrees and 35 doctorates. These achievements demonstrate that educational advancement is taking place at every stage of life and across every sector of our society.

The GOAL Scholarship Programme was established under the visionary leadership of His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali to make educational opportunities accessible to all Guyanese. The thousands of graduates we celebrate today are living proof of what becomes possible when opportunity meets ambition.

To those who may still be hesitant about applying, my message is simple: take the chance. Do not allow doubt, fear or circumstance to prevent you from pursuing your goals. We devote so much of our lives to everything else. Why not dedicate some of that time to investing in yourself?

And to our young people currently in school, it is my fervent hope that you draw inspiration from today's graduates. These men and women understand the value of education and have chosen to pursue it, even amidst the demands of adulthood. Treasure the opportunities before you now. Stay focused, work hard and take your education seriously. There will always be distractions, but your education is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.

Today, all of Guyana celebrates you. On behalf of the Government of Guyana, I salute our 3,876 graduates and congratulate you on this remarkable achievement.
