The Ministry of Education (MOE) Guyana is currently represented in St. Lucia by Deputy Chief Education Officer – TVET, Dr. Ritesh Tularam, CTVET Director Mr. Patrick Chinedu, CEO of BIT Mr. Richard Maugh, President of GCC Ms. Kathy Smith, and Training Manager of GuySuco Training Centre Mr. Jainarine Sookpaul. This summit is sponsored by Skills to Access the Green Economy (SAGE) in partnership with key TVET partners of Canada and focuses on strengthening technical and vocational collaboration across CARICOM.
The primary objective of the summit is the development of a CARICOM Apprenticeship Model that can be adopted across CARICOM territories. The initiative aims to support the full realisation of sustainable apprenticeship programmes to meet the growing demand for skilled labour across the region, ensuring countries are better equipped to fulfil workforce needs and support green economy development.
