Digital TV Box Distribution

To ensure that every household can access these enhanced digital channels, GLC is distributing Digital TV boxes. These devices allow viewers with non-digital television sets—which may not be compatible with the ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee) standard—to receive superior digital signals. Digital TV offers clearer picture quality, improved sound, and a broader array of channel options compared to analog TV.

In September, GLC launched an application form for families interested in obtaining a Digital TV Box.

The form, available at https://forms.gle/Nv5Mkh1onsVodghz6, collects essential details, including:

Region of Residence: To organize distribution logistics.

Children Attending School: Prioritizing households with school-aged children.

Child’s Information: Names and schools for eligibility verification.

Digital TV Verification: Guidance on checking for digital tuner capability.

Television and Internet Setup: Assessing current access to digital content.

Access to Devices: Information regarding access to laptops, tablets, or phones.

Eligible families—those with a child in school—will benefit most from the enhanced educational content. The distribution process, coordinated with Regional Education Departments (REDO) and local schools, will commence on Saturday, March 22,2025, at the Leonora Track and Field Stadium. Recipients should bring their completed forms and a valid ID to collect their FREE Digital Television Box.

This initiative underscores the Ministry of Education’s commitment to expanding access to quality education throughout Guyana, ensuring every household can benefit from innovative digital learning experiences.

Reimagine learning with the Guyana Learning Channel.
