Happening now| Chief Planning Office, Mischka White‑Griffith is participating in the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) Board Meeting in Brussels convened to advance strategic planning toward the GPE 2030 Framework for Accelerated Action. Guyana reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to education transformation as a founding member country since 2002, and a key regional voice for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).
Over the years, Guyana has benefited from grant financing to support system-wide reforms, including curriculum modernisation, teacher professional development, and critical infrastructure expansion, particularly in remote and Indigenous communities.
A major highlight is the upcoming launch of the National Education Leadership Academy (NELA), developed in strong partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). NELA represents a strategic investment in adaptive leadership capacity for the education sector, directly supporting GPE’s 2030 emphasis on systems strengthening through capable, accountable, and responsive leaders, unlocking fresh momentum for sustainable education transformation across Guyana.
