Guyana's Education Sector is being represented by a cross section of leaders at the 5th annual Knowledge and Innovation Exchange Conference. This high powered delegation consists of Africo Selman, Advisor to the Minister of Education, Priya Mannickchand, Sumanta Alleyne, Principal of St. Roses High, and Treasurer of the Guyana Teachers Union, Shandrina Welcome-Lee Principal of the Bishops' High School and Makhaka Blakeney, Deputy Chief Planning Officer (ag).
Guatemala is this year's host and the conference is being held in one of its historic cities, Antigua during the period June 18-21, 2025.
One of the overarching objectives of this conference is to develop a framework which seeks to guarantee foundational learning and historic development from early childhood: leveraging evidence for educational transformation and social justice in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Over 100 participants from several Latin American countries and the Caribbean represent civil society as well as political leaders.
These leaders will engage in meaningful dialogue over the next few days with an intent of deriving fruitful resolutions to the challenges that confront the Education Sector in Latin America and the Caribbean.
