This evening, Hon. Sonia Parag, Minister of Education, delivered remarks at the official launch of the Guyana STELLAR Programme.
Launched in partnership with ExxonMobil Guyana, this transformative STEM teacher-development initiative will equip 60 pre-service secondary-school teachers with advanced training in science and mathematics education, leadership and evidence-based teaching practices.
As the flagship programme of the Guyana STEM Initiative, Guyana STELLAR seeks to strengthen teaching, learning, leadership and academic rigour while preparing a new generation of STEM educators to foster innovation, critical thinking and discovery in classrooms across Guyana.
The programme forms part of the commitments under a G$100 million Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Government of Guyana and ExxonMobil Guyana to strengthen and expand STEM education nationwide.
