Headteachers and teachers in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) have welcomed the initiative by the Hon. Sonia Parag, Minister of Education, to meet with headteachers across the country, beginning with those in the “Cinderella County.”
Yesterday, headteachers and those performing leadership duties gathered at the Anna Regina Multilateral School to address various issues affecting the education sector.
Chief among these was the persistent absenteeism of teachers across the region. Senior educators have since called on the Minister to implement measures to curb this worrying trend.
Teacher, Ms. Latoya Hazel of the Aurora Nursery School, shared her thoughts on the engagement.
