Minister of Education, Honourable Priya Manickchand visited HIOWA, a small village located in Region #9 in collaboration with Her Excellency Mrs. Arya Ali - First Lady of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana and the Minister of Tourism Industry and Commerce - Honourable Oneidge Walrond.
The First Lady and the Ministers together distributed Christmas Presents to all of the children in the village along with candies and Face Masks.
A television set was also presented to the schools in order to access channels such as the Guyana Learning Channel.
Minister Manickchand also launched the distribution of the $4000 cash in hand per child to purchase school supplies for the first time in Region #9.
