HISTORY MADE AS MOE LAUNCHES E/BO CAMPUS FOR UG!

The University of Guyana is now offering its Civil and Mechanical Engineering programmes on the Essequibo Coast, operating out of the Essequibo Technical Institute (ETI) in Anna Regina.

A landmark orientation was hosted today for the 20 inaugural students who, having completed their first semester at the Turkeyen Campus, can now continue their studies closer to home in a more cost-effective and convenient way.

This expansion is the brainchild of President Irfaan Ali, who has expressed a commitment to decentralise key social services to ensure greater access for all Guyanese.

These efforts have commenced with engineering, so as to meet the rapidly growing demand for skills driven by the massive infrastructural expansions taking shape across Guyana.

Today’s orientation was conducted by a team led by Dr. Kofi Dalrymple, who is not only the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, but also the Ministry of Education’s Advisor on Education Reform.
