Region One’s Hosororo Secondary School now stands as one of the most modern educational facilities in Guyana.
It boasts smart classrooms, fully furnished labs for Information Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Home Economics, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) etc., as well as modern dorms and teachers' living quarters.
Hon. Sonia Parag, Minister of Education, Permanent Secretary Shannielle Hoosein-Outar, Chief Education Officer Saddam Hussain, and ACEO Secondary Sherwyn Blackman recently visited the campus.
In a few years' time, this particular school will have played a critical role in transforming the lives of hundreds of families across the Mabaruma Sub-District of the Barima-Waini Region.
In addition to the mainstream academic subjects, students of the school will also complete their secondary education being fluent in at least one technical skill – one that is in line with the needs of their community.
