Meetings continue with Region Three headteachers

Hon. Sonia Parag, Minister of Education, yesterday met with headteachers from across Region Three, listening to their concerns and engaging them on ways to improve education delivery in the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara region.

The discussions focused on crucial issues, including violence and bullying, school infrastructure and teacher performance.

Since assuming office, Minister Parag has committed to meeting headteachers from each of the 1,222 public schools in the country, alongside plans to engage with as many Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) as possible.

“We are all part of this education ecosystem and so if we don’t engage and work together, it is our children who will be affected and we absolutely cannot have that,” Minister Parag said.

The minister was joined by the ministry's Chief Planning Officer Mischka White-Griffith MP, the Assistant Chief Education Officer (Secondary) Mr Sherwyn Blackman and Regional Education Officer Mr Akbar Chindu.
