This morning, Hon. Sonia Parag, Minister of Education, delivered encouraging remarks to the second cohort of the University of Guyana’s Regional Accelerator for STEM Students Readiness (RASSR) programme.
The RASSR programme brings together promising young minds from across Guyana and provides them with an immersive learning experience designed to deepen their knowledge and interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
During her remarks, Minister Parag encouraged the students to make the most of the unique opportunity before them by fully immersing themselves in every aspect of the programme, remaining curious and challenging themselves to think beyond the boundaries of the classroom.
She also urged them to recognise that the experience is about more than academic development. The Minister encouraged the students to build meaningful and lasting relationships with one another and to understand the importance of collaboration, noting that some of the greatest ideas and solutions are born when people work together, share perspectives and learn from each other.
Minister Parag reminded the students that they represent some of the promising young minds who will help shape Guyana’s future and encouraged them to use the next 14 days to learn, explore, form lasting bonds and discover just how much they are capable of achieving.
