Minister Manickchand Meets Jain University Head

This afternoon, the Honourable Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand received a courtesy visit from the Head of International Admissions at the Jain 'Deemed to Be' University, Dr. Santosh Kumar Chaudhary. Dr Chaudhary is here to attend the graduation of GOAL graduates tomorrow. More than 1700 students are graduating from 11 universities.

During the meeting, ways to enhance the Guyana's education sector, particularly distance education delivery, were discussed.

Also present during the meeting was the Director of the Guyana Online Academy of Learning, Dr Jacob Opadeyi, Director of School Boards, Mr Deonarine Hardat and Programme Manager for Database Administration at Goal, Ms Swathi Prabhu Balgi.

Jain is one of the universities with which Guyana is collaborating to provide scholarships for Bachelors degrees, Masters and doctorates to Guyanese through the GOAL programme.
