Minister Manickchand Visits J.C. Chandisingh Secondary School to Oversee Rehabilitation Works
On Monday afternoon, the Honourable Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand, paid a visit to J.C. Chandisingh Secondary School, on the Corentyne Coast, where extensive rehabilitation works are currently underway. The project, undertaken by Deow & Sons Construction at a cost of $80,718,220, is set to be completed within four months and will benefit 518 students.
The ongoing works include the construction of a new sanitary block and the conversion of the school’s auditorium into additional classrooms to improve learning spaces. In addition to laboratories being built, the Information Technology laboratory and the library are also being upgraded.
Minister Manickchand emphasized the importance of these upgrades in ensuring students have a conducive environment for academic success.
This project underscores the Ministry of Education’s commitment to enhancing educational facilities across the country, creating better opportunities for students to thrive.
