Minister of Education Hon Nicolette Henry attends the University of Guyana Faculty of Technology Stakeholders Oil and Gas Symposium

The event which was held at the Guyana Marriot Hotel sought to identify and meet the demands of the engineering and operations management skills required in Guyana’s emerging oil-based industry and economy.

The event which was held at the Guyana Marriot Hotel sought to identify and meet the demands of the engineering and operations management skills required in Guyana’s emerging oil-based industry and economy.

Additionally, the symposium aims to provide initial orientation for training institutions towards the operation of the oil and gas companies operating in Guyana. Added to that, the activity also looked at how oil companies in Guyana can better align with activities in the emerging sector.

Further, the identification of gaps in engineering skills in the Guyana emerging oil and gas sector was an area of focus, with a view of training persons to fill these gaps.
