Minister Parag hints at regional hosting for Championships

Minister of Education Sonia Parag has hinted that the National Secondary Schools Athletics Championships could be held across the regions, targeting those that currently have Synthetic Tracks.

Parag has already announced that in 2027, the new Bayroc National Stadium will host the event, moving away from the National Track and Field Facility, West Coast Demerara, which has become home to ‘Nationals’ in recent years.

Moreover, New Amsterdam will soon have a Synthetic Track, paving the way for another potential host in 2028.
