Minister Parag Represents Guyana at UNESCO IIEP Strategic Debate #2

Minister of Education, Hon. Sonia Parag, on Tuesday morning participated as a panelist in the UNESCO International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP) Strategic Debate #2 on Strengthening System Leadership for Implementation and Change, joining education leaders and experts from across the globe to examine how effective leadership can translate education policy into meaningful implementation and sustainable reform.

During the discussion, Minister Parag shared Guyana's experiences in strengthening education system leadership and highlighted the importance of collaborative, inclusive and forward-looking leadership in improving learning outcomes for all.

The panel also featured Manos Antoninis, Director of the Global Education Monitoring Report; Michael Noa, Team Leader for Policy and Research at the Pacific Community; Georgette Coulibaly Brou, Head of the Directorate for Gender Equality and Equity at the Ministry of National Education, Literacy and Technical Training of Côte d'Ivoire; and Mamadou Lamine Sow, Policy Strategic Advisor for the ACSL LiT Project at the Association for the Development of Education in Africa. The session was moderated by Muriel Poisson, Team Leader a.i. for Knowledge Generation and Mobilization at IIEP-UNESCO, with opening remarks delivered by Martín Benavides, Director of IIEP-UNESCO.
