Yesterday, Hon. Sonia Parag, Minister of Education, attended the official launch of the fourth edition of the Future Warriors Tapeball Tournament, held at ExxonMobil Guyana Limited’s headquarters in Ogle, East Coast Demerara. The tournament is a collaborative initiative between ExxonMobil Guyana Limited, FL Sport, and the Ministry of Education.

Now in its fourth year, the tournament bowls off this weekend at the National Stadium, Providence, with 48 primary school teams competing for a place in the Champions of Champions finals later this year.

The tournament continues to strengthen the pathway between grassroots cricket and structured sporting development, providing opportunities for young athletes across Demerara, Berbice, and Essequibo to showcase their talent and build valuable life skills through sport.

Speaking at the launch, Minister Parag highlighted the important role sport plays in shaping discipline, teamwork, leadership, and character among young people.

Remarks were also delivered by Alistair Routledge, President of ExxonMobil Guyana Limited; Steve Ninvalle, Director of Sport; and John Ramsingh, Co-Director of FL Sport, all of whom reaffirmed their commitment to developing Guyana’s next generation of cricketers.
