Just as she returned from official travel duties this morning, Hon. Sonia Parag, Minister of Education, visited the home of Navindra Mahes, the 15-year-old Annandale Secondary School student who lost his life following an accident along the East Coast Demerara Public Road on Wednesday.

After several lengthy phone calls even before young Mahes passed, Minister Parag was finally able to offer her condolences in person.

She met with Mahes’ mother, Vimlawattie Arjun, his 6-year-old sister, and other relatives.

The young man’s father passed away six years ago.

Young Mahes was described as a bright, outgoing young man who loved fishing and farming.

Minister Parag, in comforting the family, assured that they have the full support of the Ministry of Education, as well as hers personally.
