The Honourable Minister of Education on Monday visited the Anna Regina Multilateral School in Essequibo, Region 2, where a Grade 6 workshop was held with teachers from various primary schools across the region. The workshop forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen foundational learning and improve student outcomes at the primary level, particularly as students prepare for the upcoming Grade 6 assessments.

Led by Assistant Chief Education Officer with responsibility for Primary Education, Rabindra Singh, the workshop aimed at refreshing teachers' understanding of the assessment framework while equipping them with enhanced strategies for curriculum delivery. The session covered key areas such as exam techniques, question analysis, differentiated instruction, and effective classroom management—ensuring that teachers are well-prepared to guide their students toward academic success.

During his visit, the Honourable Minister engaged with teachers, emphasizing the critical role they play in shaping young minds and the importance of continuous professional development. He reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to providing educators with the necessary training, resources, and support to uphold high teaching standards.

The Minister also took the opportunity to highlight the broader national vision for education, which includes improving instructional methodologies, fostering student engagement, and leveraging innovative teaching approaches to boost performance across all levels. He encouraged teachers to remain dedicated to their professional growth and assured them that the Ministry remains steadfast in its mission to create an education system that empowers both educators and students.
