Ministry of Education, EdYou FM at NTC Conference 2025

The Ministry of Education’s radio station, EdYOU FM, is proud to be part of this year’s National Toshaos Council (NTC) Conference, which officially opened at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre on Monday.

This year, the Ministry has set up a special help desk managed by Mr. Marti DeSouza, who is the Deputy Chief Education Officer for Amerindian and Hinterland Education Development. The booth, shared with EdYOU, was created to answer questions, offer guidance, and find practical solutions for Toshaos and village leaders from across Guyana’s hinterland regions.

EdYOU FM continues to play a key role in reaching students and communities in even the most remote areas of the country. Through its growing network of relay stations, EdYOU FM helps to ensure that no learner is left behind, supporting the Ministry’s goal of equity in education.

On Thursday, the Honourable Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand, will be at the conference all day, where she will meet with toshaos and village leaders directly, offering an opportunity for open discussion and collaboration aimed at improving education across Guyana.
