The Ministry of Education joins the education fraternity in mourning the passing of Ms. Melanie Jones, a dedicated educator whose career was marked by service, leadership, and a steadfast commitment to excellence.

From teaching English Language at St. Joseph High School to serving as Deputy Headteacher and later Headteacher at Richard Ishmael Secondary School, Ms. Jones made a lasting contribution to the education system and the lives of those she served.

She was a firm and principled leader who valued discipline, accountability, and high standards, while caring deeply for her students and colleagues.

We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, students, and the Richard Ishmael Secondary School community.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.
