Ministry of Education Mourns the Passing of Senior Teacher Leslyn Major
The Ministry of Education is profoundly saddened by the passing of Ms Leslyn Major, Senior Teacher at Christianburg Primary School, who lost her life following a road accident on Friday, October 9, 2026.

Ms Major dedicated 29 years to the teaching profession, meaningfully shaping the lives of her students. She also contributed nationally as an examination table leader with NCERD and promoted youth sports as an accomplished athlete.
Her loss is a severe blow to Christianburg Primary School, Region 10 and the wider education community.
We extend our deepest condolences to her husband, parents, family, colleagues and the Christianburg Primary community.
In the wake of this tragedy, the Ministry underscores the critical importance of road safety and urges all motorists and road users to exercise heightened caution and vigilance on our roadways.
