As Guyana advances its education and workforce development priorities, the Ministry of Education continues to ensure that persons with disabilities are meaningfully included in national progress.

On October 7, 2025, the Ministry’s Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Unit, in collaboration with the Skills to Access the Green Economy (SAGE) Programme, funded by the Government of Canada, hosted a Disabilities and Inclusion Workshop at the NCERD Boardroom.

The session brought together SEND officers and educators, NCERD trainers, TVET instructors and administrators, representatives from disability organizations, policymakers, and workforce development stakeholders to explore practical classroom strategies, strengths-based approaches, and pathways that promote the meaningful integration of learners with disabilities into the workforce.

Through initiatives like this, the Ministry of Education continues to champion inclusion and equity, ensuring that every learner in Guyana has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.
