The Ministry of Education (MOE) has confirmed that schools' cycling and swimming competitions will continue to be held at a regional level, despite their exclusion from the revamped National Secondary Schools Track and Field Championships.

Deputy Chief Education Officer (Technical) Dr. Ritesh Tularam, speaking at the launch of the new athletics championships, stated that while no specific dates were given, these disciplines will still be contested in the future.

Dr. Tularam also announced that athletics competitions for primary school students will conclude at the regional level.

The newly restructured National Secondary Schools Track and Field Championships, the nation's premier athletics meet, will be held from March 11th to 13th at the National Track and Field Facility on the West Coast of Demerara.
