Today, as Grade 5 students sit their Mock Exams, the Government of Guyana through the Ministry of Education is providing hot, nutritious lunches to students at 472 primary schools.
These schools have benefited from the National School Feeding Programme since its restructuring in 2021, offering breakfast at coastland primary schools, full meals in hinterland and riverine areas, and juice and biscuits at nursery level.
To support students during this important time, lunch is being extended to Grade 5 pupils and vegetarian options are also available for those observing religious fasts.
This is meaningful investment in our children and their success.
