Today, members of the Board of Directors of Move on Guyana paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Education, Dr. the Hon. Nicolette Henry to present the organisation’s Charter and to engage the Minister on relevant policy initiatives.
Joining Minister Henry during the discussion was the Chief Education Officer, Dr. Marcel Hutson. Minister Henry welcomed the opportunity to engage the group saying that any input and support that can be given to the sector is appreciated.
According to President of Move on Guyana, Mr. Vishal Joseph, the organisation’s focus is to ensure youth involvement and participation in the national development agenda of Guyana in accordance with their rights, roles and responsibilities.
Some of the matters discussed during the engagement by other members of the group were free university education, the establishment of community colleges, improvement of the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme and the establishment of satellite campuses of the University of Guyana.
