The National Library today hosted a Training Workshop for Rural Library Centres, bringing together participants from across seven regions to strengthen the delivery of library services in rural communities.

This initiative is part of the Ministry of Education’s broader vision to position libraries as vibrant hubs of literacy, learning, and community engagement especially in underserved and remote areas.

The workshop is designed to reinforce longstanding systems that have supported generations of learners, introduce modern, community-centered approaches to library service, and foster collaboration and innovation among rural library staff.

As libraries make a well-deserved comeback in the national development agenda, this workshop signals our commitment to making them more relevant, accessible, and impactful than ever before.
