The National Library today received a donation of about 50 books from overseas-based Guyanese Troy Garnett and his family. Receiving the books at the simple but important ceremony was the Minister of Education, Dr. the Hon. Nicolette Henry.
According to Mr. Garnett, he has donated books to the library since 2014 and will continue to do so on an annual basis. Mr. Garnett made the donation along with his sons Matthew and Hilton Garnett.
Minister Henry presented the family with two copies of the ‘Guyana at 50: Reflection, Celebration and Inspiration’ souvenir books as tokens of appreciation for the kind gesture and continued support.
Also present at the ceremony was the Chief Librarian Ms. Emiley King and staff of the National Library.
