NCERD IT Training at Local Secondary Schools

The National Centre for Educational Resource Development (NCERD) IT Unit recently conducted an informative training session at three schools in the region 2 and 3 on April 2-4 at Leguan Secondary, Abram Zuil Secondary, and Anna Regina Secondary. The training aimed to enhance the digital skills of educators, particularly focusing on improving the integration of technology into the classroom.

A key component of the training was the introduction to interactive boards, specifically tailored for Grade 7 classes. Teachers were provided with practical insights on how to effectively incorporate interactive boards into their teaching strategies, enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes. The training also extended to a broader audience of educators, who benefited from learning about email setup and the usage of Microsoft 365 (MS 365). These tools are vital for improving communication and streamlining administrative tasks within the schools.

The sessions were expertly facilitated by Mr. Randolph Samaroo and Ms. Kishana Chang, both of whom guided the participants through the various tools and features, ensuring that all teachers were able to enhance their digital literacy and integrate these technologies into their daily teaching practices.

This initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of NCERD to modernize education in the region and empower teachers with the skills necessary for 21st-century teaching and learning.
