Kato Secondary, Region 8, March 2025
The IT Unit of the National Centre for Educational Resource Development (NCERD) recently conducted a successful visit to Kato Secondary, focusing on enhancing teachers’ pedagogical skills through technology.
As part of this initiative, educators received hands-on training in using interactive boards to create engaging and dynamic lessons. This training aimed to improve lesson delivery by incorporating digital tools that promote student engagement and interactive learning.
Additionally, the team facilitated email training for teachers, ensuring they can effectively communicate, collaborate, and access digital resources to support their professional growth.
Guidance was also provided for the Electronic Document Preparation and Management (EDPM) syllabus at the CSEC level. With Kato Secondary preparing its first batch of students for the 2026 exams, the IT Unit emphasized key strategies for mastering the subject, including practical applications and digital literacy skills essential for success.
The visit marks a significant step in integrating technology into the teaching and learning process at Kato Secondary, equipping both teachers and students with the necessary tools for the modern educational landscape.
