The National Education Inspectorate (NEI) of the Ministry of Education, led by Assistant Chief Education Officer Renita Barnes and a team of Inspectors, joined the Regional Education Department, Region 2, at the Annual Headteachers’ Review to conclude the Compliance Award Ceremony. The ceremony recognised 63 schools—33 nursery, 24 primary, and 6 secondary that met the required standards in Leadership and Management Part 1. Headteachers were encouraged to maintain their momentum and continue striving for excellence as they work toward remaining on the compliance list for 2026.
Throughout 2025, the National Education Inspectorate Unit conducted inspections in regions 2, 3, 4, 6, 10, and Georgetown. Region 2 emerged as the most compliant in the Leadership and Management Part 1.
The NEI remains committed to strengthening accountability, supporting school improvement, and fostering excellence across all 11 Education Districts. Congratulations to Ms. Shondell Hercules, REDO, the dedicated team of education officers, and all awardees. Your hard work and commitment are truly commendable.
