Never forget to care for yourselves too

Minister Parag tells participants of parenting workshop

The Department of Education in Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) recently hosted a parenting workshop for mothers, as a belated Mother’s Day observance.

In her remarks, Hon. Sonia Parag, Minister of Education commended the women for their participation, encouraging them to set aside some time at least once a week for a little self care.

“You can’t pour that high level of love and care you want into your children, your homes and your families, if you yourselves aren’t well. So, when you’re taking care of everybody else, do not forget you in the process,” Minister Parag advised.

The workshop focused on parenting techniques for all stages of a child’s life. It also facilitated discussions on shared challenges, as well as the exchange of lessons learnt over the years.

Minister Parag was joined by Regional Vice Chairwoman, Ms. Anjanie Seebaran and Regional Education Officer, Mr. Akbar Chindu.
